THREE TAJIK FRONTIER GUARDS KILLED ON AFGHAN BORDER

DUSHANBE, January 21 (RIA Novosti) - Three Tajik border guards have been killed and one wounded on the Afghan border in a fire from the territory of Afghanistan.

The incident took place late on Monday on the sector of the border close to the republic's Gorno-Badakhshan autonomous region, RIA Novosti learned on Wednesday in the Tajik government's committee for state border protection.

The length of the Tajik-Afghan border is 1,344 km, 73 km out of which are guarded by Tajik frontier guards, and the rest by Russian troops.
