MOSCOW, January 20, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - The Gazprom hard currency receipts in 2003 increased by a fourth in comparison with 2002 and amounted to 16.5 billion dollars, said deputy chairman of the Gazprom Board Yury Komarov.

"The size of our exports in 2003 reached 140 billion cubic metres over the 132 billion cubic metres in 2002. The growth rate of the export amounted to eight percent, which is considerably higher than the growth of the natural gas consumption (some three percent a year)," said Komarov in the interview with the newspaper Vremya Novostei.

"The volume of the deliveries of other countries' gas within the framework of our contracts amounted to 7.4 billion cubic metres. This was caused by the optimisation of our resource basis, and this process will be objectively developing in the future," pointed out Yury Komarov.
