RUSSIAN DEFENSE MINISTER ON NEW STAGE IN SCIENTIFIC-TECHNICAL COOPERATION WITH INDIA

NEW DELHI, January 20, 2004. /RIA Novosti/. Russian-Indian relations enter the level of scientific-technical cooperation, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said.

In his opinion, the BrahMos anti-ship cruise missile created by Russian and Indian designers is a good example.

"We do not focus only on military-technical cooperation, thought it has great prospects," the Russian Defense Minister told a press conference in New Delhi on Tuesday.

According to Sergei Ivanov, he discussed with his Indian counterpart George Fernandes joint exercises, international security and the situations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
