The terrorist act took place in Kaspiisk on May 9, 2002. An explosive device was planted in the town's central square and went off at the moment when a festive demonstration, devoted to the victory over Nazism, was passing there. As a result, 43 people died, among them children, and more than 100 were injured.
Kolesnikov also added that all the terrorist acts, perpetrated in Daghestan and Moscow in the past two years, have been cleared.
He noted that the contractor of the explosion in Kaspiisk is known. He is field commander Rappani Khalilov who is hiding on Chechnya's territory.
The Deputy Prosecutor-General, speaking of the Moscow terrorist acts in Tushino in summer 2002 and near Natsional hotel last December, said that their perpetrators are known, and the investigation is going on.
As a result of the terrorist act committed by the women suicide terrorists near Tushino aerodrome during the Krylya (Wings) rock festival, more than ten people perished, and about 60 people were hospitalized with wounds of different gravity.
On December 9, 2003 a suicide woman terrorist blasted an explosive device near Natsional hotel, approximately 200 m from the Kremlin, killing six and wounding more than ten.
At the press conference held in Moscow in December 2003 chief of the Directorate for Investigation of Banditry and Murders of the Prosecutor's Office of Moscow Grigory Shinakov pointed to possible connection of the terrorist acts in Tushino and near Natsional hotel.
"The character of the explosive devices points to the connection between these terrorist acts", Shinakov stated. He specified that the same manner of the crimes, their coordination from one center, and the method to stuff the belts with explosives also testify to this.
