DUMA SPEAKER AGAINST CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS

MOSCOW, January 20 (RIA Novosti) - Speaker of the State Duma (lower house) Boris Gryzlov has come out against amending the Russian Constitution, and especially changing the presidential term.

United Russia has a constitutional majority in the State Duma and will use it to preserve the current Constitution intact, the speaker said commenting on Chechen President Akhmad Kadyrov's proposal to extend the presidential term.
