MOSCOW, JANUARY 19, 2004. (RIA NOVOSTI). Russian defence minister Sergei Ivanov will pay an official visit to India in January 19-21.
The press service of the Russian defence ministry reported that the programme of the visit will include a bilateral meeting of Sergei Ivanov with his Indian counterpart George Fernandes.
"The sides are planning to discuss a number of issues concerning the prospects of expanding bilateral relations in the sphere of the military and military-technical cooperation and exchange opinions on a number of urgent military-political problems, including those connected with security in the region," reported the press service.
It is also planned to sign a number of documents on the results of the visit which will regulate questions of bilateral military cooperation.
