MOSCOW, January 17, 2004. /RIA Novosti correspondent Nikolai Makarov/ -- There has never been and never would be conformity of opinions among the "United Russia" party members, Party's General Council Secretary, State Duma Deputy (Russia's Parliament Lower Chamber) Valery Bogomolov said.

"We are not creating another Communist Party of the Soviet Union - we never had and would never have harmony of opinions," Bogomolov said while speaking at the 4th conference of the Party's Moscow organization.

According to him, the main aim of the party is the consolidation of the society for the solution of the tasks, pending before Russia.

"United Russia" must participate in the formation in Russia of the healthy, effectively functioning civil society, Bogomolov noted. He appealed to the party members "to feel the responsibility for the fate of the country." "United Russia" political party won the Russian Parliamentary elections, held in December, and received a Constitutional majority in the State Duma.
