MOSCOW, January 16 (RIA Novosti) - This year the government will continue privatizing state property and reorganizing the state enterprises which have proved to be inefficient, said Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov in an address to State Duma deputies on Friday.

"The government intends to lower the level of the state's influence on economic and commercial activity," the prime minister stated. The government will also pay special attention to working out decisions on the size of payments for land plots occupied by enterprises.

"The size [of the payments] must not become an unbearable burden for enterprises," Mr. Kasyanov added.

In 2004 the government will also continue carrying out administrative reforms to eliminate excessive state functions and make other functions more efficient, Mr. Kasyanov stated.

He said administrative reforms will coincide with the work of the Anti-Corruption Council under the president of Russia.
