    CAIRO, JANUARY 16 (RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT IGOR KUZNETSOV) - Russo-Egyptian relations are developing positively, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Saltanov said in Cairo on Friday.

    He pointed to the political dialogue the two sides are conducting on a wide range of international problems, including at the highest level, a constant exchange of opinions, the fruitful development of bilateral cooperation - trade and economic partnership, tourism and cultural exchange. The sixth session of the joint commission on cooperation held recently gave promising results, Saltanov stressed.

    He said that the two countries' stands with respect to the problems of the Middle East are close or coincide and that both Moscow and Cairo are exerting every effort to help settle them.

    During his visit to Cairo, Saltanov held talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher and other representatives of the Egyptian leadership as well as General Secretary of the League of Arab States Amr Moussa.
