NOVOSIBIRSK, January 16 (RIA Novosti correspondent Sergei Zelentsov) - The Russian Foreign Ministry highly rates the Russian-Chinese relations.
"The two countries have achieved impressive results in all the spheres in 2003. Today they face the task of multiplying the positive tendencies in 2004," said official spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexander Yakovenko.
This year, according to him, trust, economic cooperation and the social sphere of the relations between the two countries will expand. "Both for Russia and China the year 2004 will be significant in many respects. They will mark the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Then, by the decision of the heads of the two states, this year has been announced a year of friendship between Russian and Chinese young people," pointed out Alexander Yakovenko.
