MOSCOW, January 15, 2004. /RIA Novosti correspondent Oleg Osipov/ -- Russian President Vladimir Putin demands reasonable distribution of funds allocated for protection of the state border.

"The transfer of frontier guards service under the charge of the Federal Security Service (FSB) demands great attention to the tasks concerning the protection of the state border, where many problems remain unsolved," the Russian President said speaking at the FSB Collegium session today.

Among the top priorities the President outlined the development of the infrastructure, operative settlement of the undeveloped parts of the state border, and organization of interaction with regional authorities.

"This will demand large investments from the government. It is a big sum on the scale of the country, and the sum was found by the government," Vladimir Putin said.

"I hope the money will be allocated reasonably and will be for the benefit of the country," the Russian President stressed.
