MOSCOW, JANUARY 13 (RIA NOVOSTI) - Russia's foreign trade turnover amounted in 2003 to $169.9 billion, that is 24.1 percent up as compared to the same period in 2002, says the Customs Committee's statement. The cited figure includes $139.8 billion as regards trade with traditional foreign partners (22.9 percent growth) and $30.1 billion (29.9 percent growth) concerning the CIS. The favorable trade balance makes $68.7 billion, including $62.4 billion in trade with traditional foreign partners and $6.3 billion with the CIS members, says the statement.
The export to Russia over the 11 months of 2003 totaled $119.3 billion, having grown by 24.9 percent in comparison with the same period in 2002. The exports to the CIS as well as to foreign countries were prevailed by energy resources (43.3 and 60.2 percent correspondingly).
The physical volume of export of crude oil has increased more than 18 percent as against the corresponding period last year. The export of natural gas to foreign countries grew by six percent and that of jet fuels to the CIS members by 12 percent.
