MOSCOW, JANUARY 13. /RIA NOVOSTI / -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Russian journalists on the Russian Press Day.
The presidential message particularly reads: "The history of the Russian press abounds in brilliant names, examples of civic courage, loyalty to the cause and creative dedication. Journalism enlists men having not only the literary talent but also high moral principles. This is why in all times the word in print in Russia has had weight and influence.
"The last decade is no exception. The on-ward movement of our country is very much due to the professionalism and a firm civic stand of our journalists".
