VIETMAN AIRLINES OPENS NEW ROUTE TO MOSCOW

HANOI, January 13 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - The Vietnamese state airline opened a new non-stop route from Ho Chi Min City (formerly Saigon), the largest city in Vietnam, to Moscow.

Vietnam Airlines reported that this is the first new route it has opened in 2004.

Initially the airline will make weekly flights on the new route. Presently, Vietnam Airlines has three non-stop flights to Russia, two from Hanoi and one from Ho Chi Min City.

In the past year, Vietnam Airlines has transported 4.5 million passengers and 73.5 thousand tons of cargo. In its aircraft pool, Vietnam Airlines has 34 passenger aircraft, including Boeing and Air Bus planes. They fly to 25 foreign and 16 Vietnamese cities.
