ULAN BATOR, January 13 (RIA Novosti correspondent Sergei Zelentsov) - Russia is interested in continuing to develop good-neighborly partnership with Mongolia, Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov said on Tuesday in Ulan Bator.

At the negotiations with Mongolian Foreign Minister Luvsangiin Erdenechuluun the two sides confirmed the interest of their countries in strengthening cooperation in the international arena, pointed out Igor Ivanov.

"This line is reflected also in the Joint Russian-Mongolian Statement we have signed," said the Russian Foreign Minister.

At these negotiations, the Russian and Mongolian Foreign Ministers also touched upon the development of Russian-Mongolian economic contacts which, according to Ivanov, have been acquiring "a special importance" now.

"The confident growth in the Russian economy and the positive tendencies in the economy of Mongolia make it possible to look optimistically into the future of our relations in this sphere," underscored the Russian minister. In this connection he pointed out a big role which the regional cooperation between the two countries and the creation of Russian-Mongolian joint ventures are called upon to play.

Igor Ivanov invited the Mongolian Foreign Minister to pay a visit to Russia.
