MIKHAIL KASYANOV HEADS ANTI-CORRUPTION COUNCIL

MOSCOW, January 12, 2004. /RIA Novosti/. Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov is to head the anti-corruption council under the Russian President for the first half of 2004.

At the first meeting of the council Vladimir Putin agreed to the proposal to elect the chairman of the council for six months and offered Mikhail Kasyanov's candidacy for the first half of 2004. It was supported unanimously.

The council under the Russian President includes chairmen of the Russian Supreme Court, the Superior Court of Arbitration, the Constitution Court, the Prime Minister and speakers of both houses of parliament.
