ST.PETERSBURG, January 6, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent Dina Danilova) -- From 2004 the Hermitage will charge individuals no entrance fee on the first Thursday of each month, the museum's press service reported.

This, however, is not applied to excursion services, including tourist groups on long-term agreements, the statement points out.

According to the press service, from January 1, 2004, the entrance fee to the museum will be raised to 100 roubles (over $3.3) for Russian citizens and will be preserved at 350 roubles (almost $12) for foreign citizens.

There still will be no entrance fee for children, schoolchildren and students notwithstanding their citizenship, as well as for Russian pensioners, the statement reads.
