WESTERN IRAN HIT BY ANOTHER QUAKE

TEHERAN, January 6, 2003. (RIA Novosti correspondent Nikolai Terekhov) -- Two earthquakes have been registered in the western province of Huzestan in Iran. There is no information about damage and victims so far, reports the geophysical centre of Teheran University on Tuesday. Force 4.5 and 4 quakes were registered outside the settlement of Ize at 5:27 and 5:51 a.m. Moscow time.

Nearly 32,000 were killed and 14,500 injured in the December 26 powerful magnitude 6.3 earthquake in the ancient city of Bam in south-eastern Iran, which was obliterated nearly completely.
