TBILISI, January 5th, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - The date for parliamentary elections will be fixed in the next two days.

"The earlier the parliamentary elections are held, the better. We need serious reforms of the executive branch," acting Georgian President Nino Burdzhanadze told newsmen. In her words, the date for parliamentary elections will be determined after consultations with State Minister Zurab Zhvania and Georgian presidential candidate Mikhail Saakashvili in the next two days.

Meanwhile, international organisations - the OSCE and the Council of Europe - do not recommend the new Georgian leadership to hold parliamentary elections before this March.
