MOSCOW, January 3rd, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has demanded increased attention towards disabled servicemen and law-enforcers.

According to the Kremlin press service, Putin has considered the report of the Main Control Department of the Russian President on the results of the laws regulating the re-training of servicemen and law-enforcers who had to resign due to injuries received in action.

Proceeding from the report, the Russian president instructed Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov, Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov and acting Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev to work out and implement additional measures to solve the problem.

"The situation with social adaptation to civil life, professional re-training and employment of servicemen and law-enforcers who became disabled when performing their duties testifies to insufficient attention to this essential area of state policy," Putin stressed.
