A center for traffic management will be created in the Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Traffic lights will also be modernized and a smart transport system will be introduced.

The main job of the new traffic center will be ensuring that the roads keep moving. It should help to regulate traffic on roads. So, the journey from the airport to, for example, team base should not take more than 60 minutes, according to local authorities.

Russia will host its first FIFA World Cup from June 14 to July 15, 2018. The matches will be held in the cities of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg and Sochi.
