Subscribe
Polls open in the first mayoral runoff election in Chicago history.

Polls opened on Tuesday  in Chicago’s first runoff mayoral election in history, with voters deciding between the city’s current Mayor, Rahm Emanuel, and Cook County Commissioner Jesus "Chuy" Garcia.

The two candidates will spend the day carrying out last minute campaigns in a final push for votes after a six week runoff campaign. Emanuel delivered a confident pep-talk last night at Alderman Walter Burnett’s crowd-filled office, while Garcia greeted commuters and rallied his supporters at Chicago’s L Train stop.

Polls will close tonight at  7PM CT.
