IVANOVO, April 1 (RIA Novosti) - The director of a Magnit grocery store in the central Russian city of Kaluga has been robbed and stabbed to death in his office, investigators said Monday.

“Three unknown assailants entered the Magnit supermarket in downtown Kaluga as customers. They put goods into baskets, but then dropped the baskets and attacked the director inside his office,” Liliya Moshkova, an aide to the regional Investigative Committee department’s chief, said.

The attack on the 25-year-old supermarket director took place Friday evening, but investigators only reported it today.

The director actively resisted the three men, who demanded money from him. They stabbed him more than 20 times, killing him on the spot. The assailants took some 100,000 rubles ($3,213) and left the store.
