Two Tu-95MS strategic bombers have successfully completed a routine patrol mission over the Arctic Ocean, the Defense Ministry said on Monday.
The mission - the first so far this year - began on the night of January 27-28 and lasted more than 16 hours.
The bombers were refueled in mid-air from an Ilyushin Il-78 tanker.
The bombers were shadowed over neutral waters by two British Eurofighter jets.
Russia's strategic bombers flew about 50 patrol missions last year, the ministry said.
