Czech, Israeli, S African Firms to Take Part in Russia's Army-2017 for 1st Time

The Army-2017 International Military and Technical Forum will see for the first time ever the representatives from the Czech Republic, Israel, and South Africa this year, according to the organizers.

KUBINKA, Moscow Region (Sputnik) — The companies from the Czech Republic, Israel and South Africa will participate in the Army-2017 International Military and Technical Forum, hosted by Russia, for the first time, the director of the company responsible for organization of the forum said Tuesday.

"We can see new foreign expositions this year: South Africa, the companies from the Czech Republic, Israel and other states," Anatoly Edrenkin from the International Conferences and Exhibitions (ICE Ltd.) told reporters.

The official added that the number of exhibited objects had increased from about 11,000 in 2016 up to 18,000 this year.

According to Edrenkin, such companies as Russia's Rostec corporation, the United Aircraft Corporation and the United Shipbuilding Corporation have already opened their pavilions at the forum.

A total of one hundred countries are expected to participate in the Army-2017, the Russian Ministry of Defense said.

Between August 22-27, Russia will hold the Army-2017 exhibition to showcase high-tech military innovation and achievements. The forum will be held on several venues, including the Komsomolskoye Lake, as well as the military-themed Patriot Congress and Exhibition Center, Kubinka airfield and Alabino training ground in the Moscow Region.

The event is expected to gather a number of officials and military experts from dozens of countries.
