    US Army Awards $23Mln Communications Upgrade for Chinook Heavy Airlift Copters

    The Department of Defense said that the US Army has awarded the Telephonics Corporation a more than $23 million contract for Chinook heavy helicopter weapon system communication equipment.

    WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US Army has awarded the Telephonics Corporation a more than $23 million contract for Chinook heavy helicopter weapon system communication equipment, the Department of Defense said in a press release.

    "Telephonics Corporation [of] Farmingdale, New York has been awarded a… $23,294,344… contract for Chinook weapon system communication equipment," the release stated on Thursday.

    Work on the contract is estimated to take three years with scheduled performance completion date of July 31, 2020, the Defense Department said.
