The Russian Defense Ministry and the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) are discussing the delivery of first 12 Sukhoi T-50 (PAK FA) fifth-generation fighter aircraft in 2019, UAC President Yury Slyusar said on Wednesday.

ZHUKOVSKY (Sputnik) – The T-50 is designed by the Russian Sukhoi aircraft manufacturer as part of the PAK FA, a fifth-generation fighter program of the Russian Aerospace Forces. It is a single-seat, twin-engine multirole stealth fighter jet designed for air superiority and attack roles and equipped with advanced avionics system and airborne active phased array radar. The first flight of the aircraft took place in 2010.

"We discussed with the Defense Ministry the first delivery of 12 T-50 [jets]," Slyusar said, pointing out out that the pre-series production of the PAK FA fighters was scheduled for 2019.

According to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, the Armed Forces will get first PAK FA fighters in 2019.

Slyusar’s remarks were made on the sidelines of the 13th International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2017 that kicked off in Zhukovsky on Tuesday and will last through Sunday.
