Ukraine conducted a series of 16 successful missile launches during announced drills on Thursday, according to presidential press secretary Svyatoslav Tsegolko.

KIEV (Sputnik) — The missile drills are scheduled to last until 17:00 GMT December 2, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) reported earlier, adding that the launches will extend into Russia's civil airspace.

"The defense minister and the chief of the general staff reported to the president about today's successful missile drills that involved 16 missile launches. All missiles hit their targets," Tsegolko wrote in his Facebook blog.

On November 24, the Russian Defense Ministry summoned Ukraine's defense attaché to hand him the note of protest.
