Russia’s southern Chechen republic is ready to train Syrian special forces at the special ops forces’ training center, Chechen governor Ramzan Kadyrov said Monday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — "Why not," he said answering RIA Novosti’s question if Chechen instructors would train Syrians at the center in Gudermez. "Syria is an ally and there are terrorists there, and we are all fighting terrorism."

"If we wipe them out there [in Syria], it will be easier for Russia. It will be harder if we give up now, that’s why we would be glad to train them," he continued.

Kadyrov said there were presently no Chechen instructors in Syria.

"There are no instructors from Chechnya in Syria. We are not planning sending any, it is not our right – it is the right of the commander-in-chief," he stressed.
