"At the initiative of the Russian side, 'silence regime' was introduced in four settlements, Fuaa and Khafer Khaya of the Idlib province, as well as Zabadani and Madaya of the Damascus province, for 72 hours starting at 00:01 [local time, 21:00 GMT] June 9, 2016," the statement reads.

The ceasefire in Syria worked out by Russia and the United States took effect on February 27. The cessation of hostilities does not apply to terrorist organizations, such as Daesh and the al-Nusra Front, outlawed in a number of countries worldwide including Russia and the United States.
