BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — He commented on Monday’s announcement by the Russian Defense Ministry that summoned the US military attache in Moscow after a US spy plane was intercepted in airspace reserved for civil use over the Sea of Japan, close to Russia’s eastern border.
"The only way to stop such incidents is to end all provocations, including pulling warplanes and warships to the Russian frontiers for clearly hostile reasons," Grushko said in Brussels.
He said Russia was ready to make agreements with countries that would put mechanisms in place to prevent dangerous air incidents, but added mutual interceptions would not be brought up at a possible NATO-Russia Council meeting.
