As the US continues to patrol Russia’s borders, it has accused another Su-27 fighter of performing a "barrel roll" over an American surveillance plane.

With tensions rising in the Baltic Sea following an incident involving two Russian fighters and the USS Donald Cook, US officials claim that an Su-27 has performed another “unsafe” flyby of an American surveillance aircraft in the region.

Two US defense officials claim that a Russian jet performed a "barrel roll" within 100 ft. of a US Air Force RC-135 spy plane, according to the Telegraph.

A statement from the Pentagon later claimed that the incident actually occurred within 25 ft. of the US plane.

Russian Defense Ministry spokesperson Igor Konashenkov denied similar allegations from a separate incident earlier this month.

"The reports of foreign media saying that a Russian Su-27 allegedly flew in dangerously close proximity to a US RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft in the skies over the Baltic Sea on April 14 are not true," he told reporters.

"To identify the target, one of the Su-27s of the Baltic Fleet aviation forces on duty was sent."

Washington also accused Moscow of "unsafe" maneuvers near the USS Donald Cook destroyer as it sailed through the Baltic earlier this month.

"We condemn this kind of behavior. It is reckless. It is provocative. It is dangerous. And under the rules of engagement that could have been a shoot-down," US Secretary of State John Kerry said in an interview with the Miami Herald.

While the US has filed formal protests against these actions, many have pointed out that the Pentagon could avoid these situations by not encroaching on foreign borders.

"We send naval warships, equipped with the latest equipment, 50 miles from Russian territory in the Baltic Sea, conducting military exercises. The Russians are annoyed and irritated, and we say 'Oh my goodness, how aggressive, how dare you,'" Daniel McAdams, director of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity told Radio Sputnik’s Loud & Clear.

The US has had similar responses to instances in the South China Sea and the Korean peninsula.

"There’s no sense that there’s a reaction to our actions, that we’re responsible for our actions."

Are the US and their EU buddies gearing up for a major false flag, no doubt around the time many of us are remembering Odessa Trade Union Massacre? Pyatt is congratulating the NAZIs and the suffering they caused in Mariupol. Saakashvili is wanting to change the history books in Odessa. Poroshenko is blaming Chernobyl on Russia and the NAZIs have arrived on the borders of Donbass, no doubt searching for the next cauldron. Am I being cynical to believe that the Cookie Monsters (bearing in mind Obama has just been ordering his European Leaders around) will no doubt try a nuclear false flag shortly?

I really think Russia should send a reconnaissance aircraft carrier right outside the territorial waters of the United States. Two can play this game.

What is the Terrorist United States doing in the Baltic?

They are provocative, duplicitous, terroristic warmongers who want to destabilize eastern Europe, causing the chaos and radicalisation that they so delight in.

The sooner that criminal American country is brought to account for crimes against humanity, terrorism and the genocide of indigenous peoples., the better.

anne00marie, Obama is just laying the ground for the real monster, "Babylon the Great, Mother of all Harlots" who has been pre-selected for the next presidency.

(No, I'm not religious but the USA is. Very much so.)

flatzee, Although Russia would be perfectly within its rights to do that, playing tit-for-tat would be childish and would serve only to exacerbate the problem.
    • teddy j, It's what The Tribe wants. The USA takes its orders from them. Half the population of the USA believes the world was 'created' 6,000 years ago. You can't reason with such people.

If anyone from any division of Russian military, or intelligence, is reading this, then here is an idea.

Send a Mig-31 doing a flyby at close to its max speed, depending on altitude, around 2000kmh, and watch their snooping planes scramble to save their ass.

Not a shot fired or contact between the planes.

Do the same to their aircraft careers lurking around Russia's neighborhood.

I recall when I was spying for a foreign country aboard a flat-top, a couple of F-14s did a flyby at Mach speed and so many helicopters and S-3s cracked their windscreens that they were out of action until parts were flown in.

Few things will happen. But first, why to practice need be at Russia's border unless you planning an operation. Stealth doesn't work yet?
Russian engineers are no fools. And they ARE attempting to sniff those planes BACK.

Russia is not there this log for been completely fool. Well except for Gorba and Yeltsin. And perhaps couple others. THIS is why STALIN refused to go back to Russia's original lines.
Training at Russia's borders? Oh well. Why not at Germany's or U.K's? And then NATO is always escorting all Russian planes at int waters. VERY SMART.

teddy j, ask me. And Kerry is talking about rules of engagement and a possible shoot down. Any way, he can dream as much as fancy possesses him for all I care. Such an action, he surely knows, will open the floodgates of hell on the aggressors and perhaps the end of human civilization as we know it. Talk, as we all know, is indeed very cheap.

In a strange way I wished that the ZionNazies in America had the balls to shoot down that Su-27.
Just for the 1 reason to hope that it would give the Russian the excuse to blow everything in the air, land and on the water within 1000 miles of their border back to kingdom come. With or with out nuclear weapons.

Time for America do walk the walk or shut up with empty rhetoric's and threats

patrolling the borders suggests that the Russians have developed a new strategy; border creep. This is where the border moves by 10 cms per year to eventually engulf all of europe. Hence the us must patrol...:)

Border creep, as apposed to all out migrant invasion.

A barrel roll is an aerial maneuver in which an airplane makes a complete rotation on both its longitudinal and lateral axes, causing it to follow a helical path, approximately maintaining its original direction. It is sometimes described as a "combination of a loop and a roll."[1] The g-force is kept positive (but not constant) on the object throughout the maneuver, commonly between 2–3 g, and no less than 0.5 g. -wikipedia

Iranian expat Mig 31 top speed is 3000 Kph it would suck the cockpit cover right off the plane and probably a nice strip of paint.
