MOSCOW (Sputnik) — French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault said Tuesday that NATO does not pose a threat to Russia, and insisted the the Russia-NATO council should meet before the upcoming NATO summit in Warsaw.
"NATO is not a threat to Russia," Ayrault said at a news conference in Moscow following talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
"I believe another [Russia-NATO Council] meeting should be held before the Warsaw conference," he said, adding that this cooperation would benefit the two countries' interests.
NATO Warsaw Summit will be held on July 8-9, 2016.
