Armenia suffered 92 casualties in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between April 2 and 5, the country's Defense Ministry said Wednesday.

YEREVAN (Sputnik) — The violence in Nagorno-Karabakh, a breakaway region of Azerbaijan with a predominantly Armenian population, escalated on April 2. Following three days of heavy fighting, the conflicting sides agreed a ceasefire in the disputed region that came into force at noon last Tuesday.

"During hostilities caused by Azerbaijani aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh, 64 soldiers and 13 volunteers and militia were killed on the contact line from April 2 to 5," the ministry's press service said. Fifteen deaths were non-battle casualties, according to the ministry.
