US Approves Sale of Weapons Spare Parts to 13 Poor Nations - Pentagon

Five different US weapons companies have won $49 million in contracts to supply spare weapons parts to 13 developing countries across the Middle East, South American, Africa and Asia, the US Department of Defense announced.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The estimated completion date of the contract is five years from now, on February 18, 2021, the announcement added.

"Culmen International, Alexandria, Virginia; Defense Technology, Huntsville, Alabama; Multinational Defense Services, Tarpon Springs, Florida; Sierra Four Industries, Fort Collins, Colorado and UDC USA, Tampa, Florida were awarded a $49 million… contract," the announcement stated on Thursday.

The weapons parts will be sent under the US foreign military sales program to Chad, Afghanistan, Iraq, Romania, Somalia, Niger, Burkina Faso, Djibouti, Pakistan, Peru, Congo, Jordan and Colombia, the Defense Department noted.
