FBI Using Elite Surveillance Teams to Trace 48 Most Dangerous ISIL Suspects
06:57 GMT 27.11.2015 (Updated: 10:37 GMT 06.08.2022) The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) employs elite surveillance units to monitor at least 48 of the most dangerous suspects involved in Islamic State jihadist organization activities, the Fox News broadcaster reported.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The suspects are considered a high-enough risk to justify the use of FBI elite mobile surveillance teams known as MST, normally used in cases of espionage, mob violence and high-priority cases of terrorism, the channel claimed Thursday.
26 November 2015, 16:54 GMT
"Together we are watching people of concern using all of our lawful tools. We will keep watching them and if we see something we will work to disrupt it," FBI Director James Comey was quoted as saying by the broadcaster.
Round-the-clock surveillance is conducted to ensure safety and security, the broadcaster reported.
ISIL is the primary target of ongoing international anti-terrorism efforts after claiming responsibility for the October 31 deadly crash of a Russian plane in Egypt and the November 13 series of terror attacks in Paris that killed 130 people.
