Russia will deploy S-400 defense missile systems to Hmeymim airbase in Syria, Russian Defense Minister Gen. Sergei Shoygu said Thursday.

Russia is deploying S-400 Triumf (NATO reporting name: SA-21 Growler) next generation surface-to-air missile systems to the Hmeymim airbase in Syria where the Russian Aerospace Forces group is stationed, according to Russian Defense Minister Gen. Sergei Shoigu.

Russia's President Vladimir Putin agrees with the Defense Ministry's proposal to deploy S-400 missile defense systems to the Syrian airbase.

“By the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief S-400s will be deployed to Hmeymim airbase in Syria to provide comprehensive air defense,” Shoigu said.

On Tuesday, Turkish F-16s shot down a Russian Su-24M Fencer bomber. One of the pilots has been confirmed dead by Russian authorities, shot by rebel ground units after ejecting. The other pilot has been rescued and transported to the Hmeymim airbase Wednesday morning.

Turkey has cited airspace violations as its justification for shooting down a Russian Su-24 bomber on Tuesday. However, both the Russian General Staff and the Syrian Air Defense Command confirmed that the Su-24 never crossed into Turkish airspace, in accordance with precise objective control data.

Russian President Vladimir Putin described the incident as a "stab in the back, carried out against us by accomplices of terrorists."

Set up, cock, have the finger on the trigger and upon any new threat from the governments that support IS, evaporate without hesitation, then sit back and say - the Russian national interests have been threatened so we had to act in self-defence. Russia has been intentionally attacked by the corrupt Turkish government. Remain diplomatic, fair, cover your backs in accordance with the International Law and punish where and when you can without hesitation.

Once S-400 is delivered and installed Russia should declare NO FLY ZONE over the Syrian territory and 50 km inland on Turkish side of border and in a highs from 10 up to 30.000 meters, declaring that after this notice there will be no more warnings and whoever will enter the zone will be shot down without consideration. That would close all civil and military flights in selected and declared Zone. Turks stupid as they are would try to ignore it and then Russia should take revenge and shoot down any Turkish airplane that would dare to contravene NO FLY ZONE.

Andrew Bowman, Yeah me too. But could it be possible to leave the S4 for the Syrian after achieving the eradication of the isis? if they do that would be a game changer for Syria against the violators of its territory: turkey and zionist
