A new Russian Defense Ministry handgun experimental sample designed by the Central Research Institute of Precision Machine Building (TsNIITochMash) agency will be developed in the near future, the company’s chief executive said Wednesday.

KLIMOVSK (Sputnik) – "The gun is in the experimental sample manufacturing stage. It will be ready soon," Dmitry Semizorov told RIA Novosti.

The TsNIITochMash head said a number of experts are "actively involved" in developing the 9x21mm caliber handgun.

"One of those experts proposed a very interesting solution, which is what we will offer to the customer," Semizorov pointed out.

TsNIITochMash, a major supplier of weapons and ammunition, as well as state-of-the-art Ratnik infantry combat gear, is part of Russia’s state technologies corporation Rostec.
