"The vessel of this project arrived at Vilyuchinsk from St. Petersburg from the manufacturer for the Pacific Fleet Submarine Force," the PF said in a statement.

The PF said the floating crane’s crew was preparing to perform intended work as part of the constant readiness forces.

The self-propelled project 02690 floating crane is the newest unique vessel with enhanced capabilities to perform a variety of lifting works. In addition to regular loads, the crane can load weapons on surface ships and submarines, as well as transport cargo on the upper deck.

The 22-crew crane has a total displacement of 2,000 metric tons, a load of up to 150 metric tons and a cruising range of about 3,500 nautical miles.
