Russia's Arms Exporter Plans to Retain Deliveries at $12-$13Bln Annually

Rosoboronexport's export deliveries volumes have increased more than fourfold over the last 15 years.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia’s largest arms exporter, Rosoboronexport, has set its annual goal of arms sales to foreign purchasers at no less than $12 billion annually, Rosoboronexport General Director Anatoly Isaikin said Tuesday.

“Over the last 15 years, Rosoboronexport’s export deliveries volume has increased more than fourfold. The special exporter’s main goal now is to keep the pace of its annual volume of deliveries at $12-$13 billion reached in 2012-2014,” Isaikin told journalists.

In the same 15 years, Isaikin said, Rosoboronexport’s orders have increased fivefold and currently stand at $45 billion.

“Rosoboronexport’s annual volume of portfolio orders has increased five times. Today, portfolio orders stand at $45 billion,” Isaikin said.

“Rosoboronexport considers cooperation likely with countries like Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, and Algeria. Negotiations are currently underway on their likelihood and a positive trend is being observed,” Isaikin added.

Isaikin added that Rosoboronexport exports approximately 37 percent of its products to the Arab world.

Russia’s largest arms exporter works with more than 700 companies and organizations and cooperates with more than 70 countries.

Rosoboronexport handles more than 85 percent of Russia’s arms and military equipment exports.
