Former Indian Intelligence Chief Vikram Sood spoke in an interview with Sputnik about the presence of Islamic State militants in India and China.

Talking about the release of a 32-page document in Urdu allegedly released by ISIL stating their plans of expansion and global destruction, Sood told Sputnik, “First of all, this document is written in Urdu, the Pakistani language, not Arabic. ISIL is an Arab organization. Thus, apparently, they are so firmly settled in Pakistan that they can translate the document and then transfer it to some Americans so that the publication appeared in an American newspaper."

He added, "I do not know whether it is really a Pakistani organization that has prepared the document, pretending that it is Islamic State.”

Sood went on to say that he thinks that the connection is quite strong as there are many Sunni terrorist and sectarian organizations in Pakistan, so the chances of ISIL being in contact with Pakistani organizations are quite high. “Although in Pakistan, there are many other organizations that also want to beat India.”

Regarding the expansion of ISIL in India and China, Sood said “In China there is a problem in Xinjiang province mainly with Muslim separatist movements. In India, there is no such problem except for in Kashmir; where Pakistan inspired militants still operate. The people there have communication with ISIL, young guys with flags of Islamic State. But I did not see such a threat in Indian Kashmir.”
