MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Night-time tank drills, involving more than 230 units of military hardware and over 900 operators, were held in Russia’s Orenburg Region, the press service of the Russian Central Military District said.
The crews operating T-72 battle tanks practised driving on rough terrain and carried out firing control exercises, the press service said in a statement released early on Saturday.
The T-72 is a Soviet battle tank. Its latest modernized version is the T-72B3, which features an improved fire-control system, a ballistic computer for better accuracy and thermal weapon sights, as well as new-generation communications equipment.
The T-72B3 was displayed at the Army-2015 expo held outside Moscow on June 17-18.
