MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to documents obtained by the newspaper Bild on November 2, 2011, unidentified US hackers unsuccessfully tried to hack the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (EADS) to uncover details regarding which defense weapons had been ordered by Saudi Arabia, Germany and France.
"[Germany's foreign intelligence agency] BND received information from a foreign news service about an alleged EADS Deutschland's data hack," the newspaper cited the document as saying.
Earlier in 2005, the United States requested that BND provide information on the movement of German and French military equipment, according to the obtained data. However, Bind noted that the intelligence agency refused, citing a lack of economic reasons.
