ST.PETERSBURG (Sputnik) – In light of the Western sanctions, Moscow stepped up its cooperation with China, including in the energy and defense sectors, with the two countries signing large energy deals and conducting joint military exercises.
Shoigu said during a bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart Chang Wanquan:
“Against the backdrop of the current international situation, the strengthening of friendly ties between the armies of China and Russia plays an especially crucial role. This is our common contribution to peace and stability.”
