MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The delivery of Russian S-300 systems became possible after Iran and six international negotiators reached a framework agreement on April 2 stipulating a gradual lifting of anti-Iran sanctions in return for Tehran's pledge to dismantle parts of its nuclear infrastructure.
"Our colleagues, professionals in this field, are currently finalizing the contract," Ryabkov said.
Russian Security Council Deputy Secretary Yevgeny Lukyanov said earlier on Tuesday that the decision to supply Iran with S-300 missile defense systems had already been made, but the implementation of the project required more time.
The final agreement between Tehran and six world powers, due by the end of June, is expected to open the way for expanded Russian arms deliveries.
