STOCKHOLM, November 17 (Sputnik) — The Swedish Armed Forces denied Monday reports that a Russian aircraft allegedly violated its national airspace on Saturday.
“[The JAS fighter aircraft] were launched because of a French plane. We do not provide any further details as the incident is now being studied,” the Head of Press at the Swedish Armed Forces, Philip Simon said on-air at Radio Sweden.
Simon confirmed the incident took place on November 15 but did not specify the exact time and place.
News regarding the alleged violation of Swedish airspace by a Russian aircraft first appeared in the Swedish Expressen newspaper.
