    Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has ordered that the country's missile and air defense systems be unified before December 2011, the Kremlin press service said on Tuesday.

    Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has ordered that the country's missile and air defense systems be unified before December 2011, the Kremlin press service said on Tuesday.

    "The existing air defense and missile defense networks, early warning systems and aerospace monitoring systems are to be combined under a unified strategic command," Medvedev said in his directive.

    Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov were made responsible for its implementation.
