TEL AVIV (Sputnik) - The Israeli military registered a rocket launch from the Gaza Strip targeting the southern part of the country amid the escalation of tensions in the region, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson said late on Sunday.

“A rocket was launched at southern Israel from the Gaza Strip. Sirens sounded in the Sha'ar HaNegev Regional Council and the city of Sderot,” the spokesperson wrote on Twitter.
