Over 60 Syrians Return Home Over Past 24 Hours

More than 60 Syrians have returned to their homes in Syria's provinces of Homs and Aleppo over the last 24 hours.

MOSCOW, November 18 (Sputnik) — The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement Saturday that more than 60 Syrians, who have been living in camps for internally displaced persons, have returned to their homes in the country's provinces of Homs and Aleppo over the last 24 hours.

"Over the last 24 hours, 64 people left the camps for internally displaced persons for their homes in the provinces of Aleppo (23 people) and Homs (41 people)," the bulletin by the ministry's Center for Syrian Reconciliation read.

Syria Receives 25 Tonnes of Humanitarian Aid From Belarus
According to the statement, the center, together with National Reconciliation Committees, continues to monitor the situation in the war-torn country.

The Syrian civil war has been raging since 2011, being fought between government troops and numerous opposition and terrorist organizations. The Russian Aerospace Forces have been supporting the Syrian government forces in their fight against terrorists since 2015 at the request of Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Russia, alongside Iran and Turkey, is a guarantor of the ceasefire regime in Syria. Moscow has also been assisting Damascus by providing humanitarian aid.
