MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Afghan police have seized a truck loaded with explosives in country's capital of Kabul and arrested the man who was driving the vehicle, the TOLO broadcaster reported Sunday citing Afghanistan's Interior Ministry.
The truck was loaded with heavy explosives and two rockets, the broadcaster added.
Afghanistan has long been suffering from an unstable political, social and security situation due to the activity of various terrorist groups. The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces, supported by the US-led coalition, are currently conducting joint offensive operations to combat terrorism across the country.
In August, the US president unveiled new US strategy in Afghanistan. However, terrorist acts continued to rock the country, with a car explosion hitting Romanian troop convoy last month in southern Afghanistan.
